| This is the first time I have purchased a diamond select item. And I must openly admit that I am very very pleased with the overall product. This viper Mk. II does in fact measure 8 inches long, is extremely detailed, came in a well packaged box and I must admit it does look like it came right from my tv screen. Though two issues do come up. When peering into the cockpit there seems to be two holes for pieces. I searched all through the box and the packaging and could not find them. The cockpit canopy is also quite loose and if you're not careful you'll lose it quickly. Overall though this is a wonderful collector's item for battlestar fans and I wholeheartedly back this item |
ok.. expensive collectable..

Bought this b/c it was a very good price (50%off or something)...came brand new.. its heavy, and has a metal pin sticking out from the bottom to insert into the base- awkward to "play" with (not that you could or would play with this one).. the writing/stickers on the right side of the cockpit are smudged and not clear like the other side indicating the pilots name.. the "clear" cockpit was full of smudges and cant be cleaned..
I have it just to display- so its fine.. but if I was a true collector, I would be disappointed with this particular one (due to smudges on cockpit and decals).. not sure if thats going to be the same with all the other vipers like this or not.. |

| Well I have just recieved my viper and have spent the last 15 minutes sanding the cockpit canopy down so that it can actually fit the cockpit and had to break off the bottom taps to get a decent seal. Very dissappointed. If a viper jock is only as good as his viper the guy flying this one would be dead meat, if not killed by the cylons then he would be dead from the outside atmosphere leaking into his or her cockpit, well not leaking, flooding in like a vacum it was really that bad.Overall personally I would say the quality is quite poor, exhausts poorly done, cockpit area toy like, stand quality is also poor, and the joy stick if ever there was one (as I can find no evidence of its placing) is missing, yet shown on the box art?. The good things are harder to point out,Diamond select have caught the overall shape of the viper, from the outside it looks the part with a descent enough paint job, also I have to say the decals on mine are ok and clear, so no problem there. What is a shame about this viper is if Diamond select had operated a much tighter quality control this could, and should, have been a really nice collectors piece, Im just pleased I got mine at less than half price otherwise I would be even more annoyed as I was really looking forward to recieving this. And yes I broke a forward locating tab trying to get a decent enough seal. Well in retrospect I have to say Diamiond select really Fracked this bird. |
