Here we have the beautifull Moebius Seaview. First, I would like to say I am a Lifelong Fan of the Classic TV series by Irwin Allen. And to Fans like myself , this is a God Send!!!
Ok, this Model represents the Second to fourth Season version Of Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea's Submarine Seaview. This Kit is based off of the 17'2" Filming Miniature used for all the Surface Running shots as well as the Flying Sub Launch sequences.
It's 39" Long and packed with detail. It can be built up as an an attractive Model Right out of the box, for the casual Modeler. However for guys like me, you can really go to town on this kit. I added my own Lighting system for both the Seaview and Flying Sub that comes with the kit.
I also researched the best colors for the Sub, from guys who actually had access to the real Miniature.I removed all the seam lines on the Hull as well.
This was a really fun build for me, and I await Moebius next offerings from the "Fantasy worlds of Irwin Allen"!!!
I highly recommend this kit to any Classic Sci-Fi Fan and Modelers of all kinds. This is a High quality kit and worth every penny!!!

The Seaview model that fans have been waiting for!

This monster of a model is what "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" TV series fans have been waiting for! The kit includes all parts to build a replica of either the 8' or 17' filming minature of the Seaview. Optional parts are: Front window sections with and without raised frames, and a missile tube section with either 16 or 20 missiles. The instructions tell you which parts apply to which miniature.
Parts are also included for the interior of the observation nose and sub control room, which are visible through the 4 large bow windows. The Flying Sub launch bay is also represented on the model, complete with a scale replica of the Flying Sub itself. The Flying Sub can be displayed either docked in the bay, or on its own tiny stand (which is a miniature replica of the clear plastic stands that Aurora Plastics used to include with their aircraft kits.) A part is included to show the Flying Sub bay doors closed on the Seaview if you wish to display the Flying Sub outside of its bay.
6 seated and 2 standing crew figures are included, as well as scale replicas of the Minisub and the Nelson Institute diving bell. A display stand is also included, in the form of 2 molded plastic pedestals that plug into holes in the Seaview's keel. |

| After waiting over 40 years we now have a proper if somewhat large replica of the submarine Seaview from Voyage to teh bottom of hte sea. The control room painting guide is strange, watch the show and it makes no match to at least the second season, but looks right on. You can see from the front window to the radio room. All the tweekiy bits are there and 6-seated crew and two standing officers make up the on-board crew. You get a Flying sub, can be placed in the hangar and removed if you like, mini-sub, and diving bell, as well as a offer for a remote diving kit, and video system to video tape your dives up to 15' deep and 300; away, sound to costly for me. The kit is pre, set for those who are tempted to light the sub, all the wiring routes are molded into the insides only the lighting kit is missing. The cost is high but so are all models today, the value is also very high, and if you are a fan of hte old show this is it. YOu can build either the 17' surface model or the 8 1/2' underwater model. I'm building the underwater one, just looks better and matches the drawings I own. The fit is good, only two joints needed putty so far and I have the hull together, ready to work on inside, cannot comment on fit of that, but lower half seem to fit nice and tight, could be snap fit to access batteries for lit version. Hint Hint. This is one of the best kits yet, highly recommend it to anyone with space, and over aa few kits built as interior will take some skill to paint, maybe decals for this would have helped younger modelers or older one for that matter. Company was Polar Lights before name change, Moebius from Forbidden Planet I like it. |

| The Seaview Moebius model arrived exactly as I expected it! It's very large in size and highly detailed. I grew up watching "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" so I was looking forward to receiving this. I'm having a great time putting it together with my son & nephew! |
Seaview Submarine Model by Moebus

| This model is large enough to convert to a working Radio Controlled (RC) submarine model. There are kits provided at Caswell Inc. ([...]) that will help the model builder convert the very detailed Moebus model into the RC version. There are also internal and external LED lighting kits that can be added to this plastic model from Just and Illusion ([...]) to enhance this model. Some of the lights are compatible to be immersed into water, and can be added to the RC version. It take approx 80 hours to convert the plastic model into the working RC version add another 15 hours to equip the lights to the model. Depending on the paint details the assembler chooses, count of spending some time putting the seams and sanding before concealing all the model's glue joints. Saying that this is the best built plastic model I have ever seen! Joint are clearly defined and have been engineered to provide the most possible concealment. If you have any fond memories of the Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea TV series, you will enjoy putting together this model, as I have. |
